FRIDAY MAY 22

12PM7PM-CKS Store-wide Sale, 327. East Main St. Retail Store Location

3PM – 6PM-B.V. Pro Kayak Comp. Qualifying Rounds- Buena Vista River Park at South Main. Come watch the the world’s best freestyle kayakers compete in the state’s most dynamic river feature for a chance at the finals on Saturday evening.

4:00-5:00 PM – Power Happy Hour Join Natali Zollinger, from Natilus SUP, based in Moab, Utah, for an on-water power happy hour. This 1-hr class is a SUP exercise extravaganza that is both challenging and fun. At the Town Pond (McPhelemy Park)

6PM-BV FUN Raft Race at the Buena Vista River Park. The fun and casual raft race circuit makes a stop at PaddleFest 2015 where raft racers give it their all in a sprint style race through the River Park ending at South Main.

4PM – 8PM-Paddles and Pints Happy Hour. Bring the entire family to the South Main River Park for an evening of libations, live music, food, arts, crafts and games. All while watching the best athletes in the world compere in the BV Pro. This is the major fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs at Paddle Fest

5PM – 10PM-Live Music  Bring out your dancing shoes and have some after hours fun

10pm – close Late Night Music – Keep the party going at the Asian Palate w/ the Durango Funk Allstars

SATURDAY MAY 23

9am-7pm- CKS Storewide Sale at 327 E. Main St., Buena Vista, CO our retail store location. The nation’s best brands combined with the industry’s top representatives to answer all of your questions. This is the one time of year customers can work directly with manufacturers while picking out their gear, boats and boards.

9am-5pm- Boat & Bike Swap at CKS (327 E. Main St., Buena Vista). Got used paddling stuff to sell? Want to buy some used gear and boats? This is Colorado’s largest used paddling Swap open to the public. Boneshaker Bike Swap! Sell/buy used bikes.

9:00 AM – 10:00 PMSUP TRANSITION: Flatwater to River class at the Town Pond (McPhelemy Park). This  class cover the  strategies and info you need to make the transition from the pond to the river. The entire class takes place at the town pond.

9amCommunity Dog Walk hosted by Gone to the Dogs. Meet at Gone to the Dogs at the corner of East Main and Railroad. Bring your dog, a leash and some xtra baggies.

9-10:30 pm- SUP Fitness with Nikki Gregg-  This 2.5 hour clinic / class is a combination of dry land and on-water instruction with the objective of developing and refining your forward stroke technique, enhancing board steering and maneuvering skills, and learning some valuable fitness and racing tips.

9am-5pm- On Water Educational Courses and Pool Sessions with RMOC. Learn all facets of paddling from the best instructors in the world at PaddleFest.  From first time paddling classes to advanced techniques, PaddleFest offers it all.

9 am-12 pm- BV Open Kayaking Comp- Buena Vista River Park at South Main.  Mere mortals and up and coming kayakers compete in a fun filled all ages OPEN kayak competition at the BV River Park.

10amSUP Yoga For Paddlers – Yoga keeps your core in shape and your body in balance. So does Paddling! Come learn how to apply fun and basic Yoga techniques on dry land and then yoga up on a SUP board. You will love how you feel after this course, even if you get a little wet.

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM – SUP Stroke & Maneuvers With Dan Gavere – meets at RMOC booth next to CKSJoin Dan Gavere, the nation’s leader in whitewater SUP, for a fun-filled day on the Arkansas River.

11am-3pm- Whitewater Kayaking Demo Center-Buena Vista River Park at South Main. Come on out and test the new 2014 whitewater kayaks and learn about boat design from the world’s best manufacturers.

11am-4pm- SUP and Flat-water Kayaking Demo Center- presented by BoardWorks and BadFish SUP at the Buena Vista Town Pond at McPhelemy Park.  Come learn some basic skills and try out the best in Flat-Water Kayaking, Kayak Fishing, SUP, and Inflatable technologies.

11am-3pm- Intro to Kids Kayaking - Town Pond (McPhelemy Park) (every hour on the hour)

12 pm-2pm- Surf Expo presented by BoardWorks and BadFish SUP at the Buena Vista River Park (Staircase Wave-just upriver from South Main). Meet at the Badfish Demo Center at the South Main River Park and learn more about River SUP and demo the new 2015 river specific SUP surf boards. This is for people with previous river SUP experience. Must have your own paddling gear. Demo boards will be provided.

12 pm-6pm- BV Pro Kayaking Comp- Buena Vista River Park at South Main.  Watch the best in the world battle it out for the BV Pro Kayaking Title.  A must see event full of excitement and thrills. Fun activities, foods, art and spirits will accompany the event.

3pm-5pm - Children’s Boulder Comp hosted by the Trailhead at the South Main boulders. It’s gonna be awesome.

4pm-8pm- Paddles and Pints Happy Hour- Bring the entire family to the South Main River Park for an evening of libations, live music, food, arts, crafts and games.  All while watching the best athletes in the world compete in the BV Pro. 6pm- SUP-Hill-Downhill- Meet at the South Main River Park at 5:00pm with your boards and all your gear.  A fun uphill, but short, foot race to your SUP board (which will be stashed up stream) and a Chinese downhill SUP River Race to the finish line in South Main. Cash and prizes for the winners.

5pm – 10pm-Live Music  Bring out your dancing shoes and have some after hours fun

10pm – close Late Night Music -  Keep the party going at the Asian Palate w/ DJ Dustin Urban

SUNDAY MAY 24

8:00 AM - Spirit Trail Runs and River Walks 8K and 5 K trail running races that wind through the hills along the Whipple and Broken Boyfriend Trails, providing incredible views and a fun-fulfilled way to start your Sunday morning!  And a fun walk for people of all ages and abilities through the Buena Vista River Park (much easier option) Registration is from 7:00-8:00AM at the Buena Vista Community Center, corner of East Main St. & South Main St.  Races start at 8 am

10am - Yucca Classic Disc Golf Tournament BV has a new 9 hole Disc Golf Course that is taking the town by storm.  Come join this Amateur  Disc Golf Tournament for a chance to be crowned the best in the Yucca.  All ages

2pm-4pm - Bouldering Comp hosted by the Trailhead at the South Main boulders. This is the Main Bouldering Comp – Kids Comp is Saturday from 3-5pm.

2 PM - Kids, Kayaks and Groovers – Oh My! Float (2pm), Family Dinner (6pm), Slideshow (8pm). Join photographers Peter, Kathy and Abby Holcombe (age 10) from the Jackson Kayak Exploration Team, for a fun filled evening celebrating families on the river.  We will kick off the night with a spaghetti dinner followed by a presentation filled with beautiful images.  $10 adults/$5 kids and at the door for $12 adults/$7 kids.

3pm - Buoy Bonanza- Fun kayak and SUP race around buoys at the BoardWorks SUP Pond in McPhelemy Park. Bring your talent and your friends to compete for prizes.  A family friendly and all ages all abilities event.

4:30 PM – Youth Pond Slalom Race – A FUN kayak, SUP or canoe race for beginning and intermediate level paddlers. Racers will navigate a slalom course around buoys set up in the pond and the fastest time will win. Prizes for all participants! Meet at McPhelmee Pond.

5pm-8pm- Live Music, Food, and Guest Speakers - Bring the entire family to the South Main River Park for an evening of great music, food and drinks.

6:00 PM - Kids, Kayaks and Groovers – Oh My! Float (2pm), Family Dinner (6pm), Slideshow (8pm).

 

MONDAY MAY 25

9am-5pm - CKS Storewide Sale at the E. Main St Retail Location. The nation’s best brands combined with the industry’s top representatives will be available to answer all of your questions. This is the one time of year customers can work directly with manufacturers while picking out their gear, boats and boards.

11am-2pm - Race to the Grill.  The first annual River Runners’ Race to the Grill will be a downriver race through the infamous Milk Run section (aka family float section) of the Arkansas River.  Participants will race in a time trials fashion down this Class 2 section of whitewater and can race in rafts, kayaks or SUP boards.  Race will end at the River Runner Grill for an afternoon of relaxation on the sandy beaches of the Arkansas River. Cold beverages and hot tacos will be waiting for you at the River Runners-Riverside Grill.
