Ever wonder if the waters you’re running are polluted? Do you want quick and effective ways to find out? Come to American Whitewater’s ‘Water Quality for Boaters’ workshop at PaddleFest.
This workshop will provide a basic understanding of the water quality components most likely to affect our boating experience: E.coli, pathogens, heavy metals, and emerging contaminants (pharmaceuticals, pesticides, herbicides, hormones, etc).
Join us for 1 ½ hours of background information, Q&A and training in basic water testing procedures. You will leave this workshop with a greater understanding of the most important water pollutants to the boating community and a portable water testing kit to carry on your next river trip.
With a little bit of knowledge and some basic water testing supplies, you can make informed choices and take action to improve your favorite rivers!
